About Me

Kia ora. I am privileged to have the position of Deputy Principal and Junior Team Leader at Waipu Primary School. I teach New Entrants/Year 1 two days a week in Koukou (Room 6) where I job share with Julie Levell. I absolutely love teaching and really enjoy helping our tamariki transition to school and develop a love of learning. I am married to Larry and we have two adult children, Karl and Laura who also attended Waipu Primary School. Out of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially our two grandaughters. I also like e-biking, tramping and camping and love spending time exploring our beautiful country in our campervan.

I am the Team Leader and Deputy Principal for the Senior School. I have been teaching at Waipu Primary since 2016. I live locally with my amazing wife and two children. I am passionate about Education Outside the Classroom and Digital Technology. I love to support and get involved in our Waipu community.

About Me

Kia ora e te whānau! Ko Whaea Mel toku ingoa. I am very excited to be joining the Junior team at Waipu Primary School this year. I have four adult children and an 18mth old grandson. I love teaching across all areas of the curriculum, however I am passionate about Literacy and Te Ao Māori. I love fishing, kayaking and going on multi-day hikes around our beautiful motu. I am very excited to be joining this beautiful community and look forward to getting to know you all.

About Me

I’ve been teaching NE/Year 1’s in NZ since 2012. I feel privileged to support each child at the start of their learning journey. My goal is to nurture and develop their curiosity and love for life-long learning. I am originally from the UK and I emigrated to NZ in 2008 with my husband and three children. Outside of teaching I love to spend quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy walking, swimming and immersing myself into a good book!

Kia ora! I’m an Aussie who married a Kiwi. My family and I made the move to NZ in 2021 to live a more family-orientated lifestyle and we haven’t looked back since. I love being a teacher and teaching juniors is my absolute favourite. Their love and enthusiasm for learning is what makes being a teacher so rewarding for me.

About Me

Kia ora. My name is Gill and I am very happy to be joining the Waipu School community. I have spent the last 17 years in Taranaki where I taught Junior and Middle School children. Prior to that I taught Juniors at Whenuakite School on the Coromandel and at Galatea School in the Bay of Plenty, so as you can see, my passion is for giving students the best possible start on their learning journeys. I have two grown daughters and three grandchildren and I love spending time with them in the outdoors. I can also be found riding my bike around the Hatea River Loop and in the gym, or relaxing with a good book or a movie.

Talofa lava, I am a born and bred Northland girl and have lived in Whangārei most of my life with a few years in Australia. I was lucky enough to start my teaching career here at Waipu Primary in 2021 and have loved growing and learning alongside the tamariki at this school. About Me

I am originally from Taranaki and taught at a couple of rural schools around the region as well as overseas before making the decision to move to Waipu. During my spare time I love to get to the beach with my 3 children as much as I can, explore walks around the area as well as spend quality time at home and in the garden. I have been teaching at Waipu School since 2011 and consider myself extremely lucky to be a part of the Waipu School team! I love teaching all areas of the curriculum but have a passion for Literacy (reading, writing and spelling) and also P.E.

About Me

Kia Ora, I am a Waipu local who went to Waipu Primary School myself. I have three children, one who has grown up and left home, and two younger school aged children. I have a love of the outdoors, the beach, being in the garden and being active. I currently job share in a year 5/6 class and love seeing children happy and engaged in their learning. This year I have taken on the SENCO role at Waipu Primary which has been a great opportunity for me to work with a range of ages across the school.

About Me

I love working in junior classes, supporting students to strengthen their early literacy knowledge. I provide early Literacy support in reading and writing, working in class with small groups, or working one-on-one with students. It’s wonderful seeing confident readers and writers emerge, who develop independence and feel successful. Yay!

About Me

I have been involved in all areas of the Arts from a young age andI can truly say that the ARTS are my passion. I am a classically trained singer who has performed throughout the Motu as a soloist, in choirs and in Musical theatre. I am also Musical Director of Te Korihi o te Tūī a children's choir based in Bream Bay of singers ages 12 and under. I love seeing the delight that children experience when they create through Music, Art, Dance and Drama.

Kia ora! I have taught for 12 years. Five of those years in London, while traveling the world with my husband. We then moved up to Waipu with our amazing three children. The Garden to Table programme is so incredible that I decided to return to teaching part-time, to start the journey with Waipu tamariki.

Hi, I joined the Waipu Primary School at the beginning of 2022 as the OSCAR supervisor and shortly after as a Teacher Aide. Working with the new entrants is an absolute joy, and the after school care provides a lot of variety and challenges. Outside of school I enjoy gardening, yoga, fishing, sewing, family and travel.

Hello, my name is Carien My family and I immigrated to New Zealand from South Africa in 2014. I started my Learning Assistant career in 2016 at a Waikato school. My family then relocated to Waipu in 2019 and I joined Waipu Primary School in 2020. I provide learning support in and out of the classroom for students that need a little extra help.

About Me

Hi my name is Pauline Fudge and I am so proud to be a staff member at Waipu School. I have found the school to be a very relaxed, country style school with a wonderful community connection.The staff here is very much a team. The children are paramount, we are one big family! I previously worked in Marlborough as a teacher aide for 7 years and 2 years at a special needs school in Auckland. I love the outdoors, hiking, tennis and pickleball. I enjoy gardening and have 2 dogs at home. My 2 adult children live in Orewa and I am extremely proud of them both. I love my job and the children, it is very rewarding to see them learn, grow and achieve.
